The leading Islamic Scholars of  Bangladesh have demanded not to telecast the programmes of so-called Salafi backed Peace TV in Bangladesh.'The channel is telecasting anti-Islam and anti-state messages in its programmes,' the Islamic clerics alleged.

 

The clerics who were in a conference today on 'Imam Azam Hazrath Imam Abu Hanifa' at Dhaka Press Club requested the Government to stop the telecast of Peace TV in Bangladesh soon.The Prime Minister's information adviser Mr.Iqbal Subhan Chowdhury was the chief guest of the conference.

                                                                                 

Mr.Iqbal Subhan Chowdhurye said, 'Those who create threats to public safety and kill people by using religion will have to be stopped.' He also said that  it is blasphemous to promote  radicalism by using religion in the country.

According to the wikipedia, the Peace TV Bangla is a Bengali language Islamic television network.

 

Peace TV programmes are in Bengali and some are dubbed into English language and telecast free-to-air. The founder and president of Peace TV Bangla is Zakir Naik.

                                                                                     

 

The confernce was anchored by the Member Secretary  of "Imam Azam and Aa'la Hazrath Research Council", Mawlana Mufti Muhammad Boktiyer Uddin and the welcome speech to the honorable guests was deliverd by the Convener of the Council Mawlana Mufti Muhammad Abul Quashem Fazlul Haq.
